Beef Cattle Reproduction Symposium
US - With cow-calf producers challenged this year by rising input costs, producers are focused on the bottom line while seeking both economic and production efficiencies.



In response, the Beef Reproduction Task Force and the University of Tennessee are sponsoring the 2010 Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle 5-6 August in Nashville, Tennessee.

This symposium will inform producers on cutting edge reproductive strategies, said Kansas State University animal scientist Sandy Johnson. Speakers will provide information on improving herd productivity and decreasing input costs by shortening the calving and breeding season. The symposium will also help producers understand how to improve overall reproductive management through enhancement of both male and female reproduction, as well as innovations in protocols such as estrous synchronization.

K-State Extension animal scientists, along with their counterparts at the University of Nebraska, South Dakota State University, Iowa State University, University Of Idaho, University of Illinois, University of Florida and University of Missouri comprise the Beef Reproduction Task Force.

Conference presenters represent leading educational and research institutions and will share their knowledge on the latest topics of cattle reproduction.
